A message from our Chairman

Established to nurture and showcase the finest young football talent from schools within the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough, the Rotherham Schools Select Football Association is a District Football Association comprising 19 boys and girls teams.

These teams are meticulously selected via independent scouts from the best footballers across the region, creating a platform for young athletes to shine.

Affiliated with the English Schools Football Association (ESFA), Rotherham Schools Select Football Association has a proud and storied history.

From 1996 to 2018, we operated a single representative side.

In 2019, we expanded our reach by establishing teams for age groups from Under 9 to Under 15, ensuring more young talents have the opportunity to develop and compete.

Our association continued to evolve, and in 2020, we affiliated with the Sheffield and Hallamshire District for the first time, marking a significant milestone in our growth.

The year 2021 saw another landmark achievement with the introduction of our first girls’ team, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and promoting football for all.

Our goal is to inspire the youth of Rotherham, providing them with top-tier football opportunities and facilities, fostering both athletic and personal development.
